Possible food and drug interactions when taking Aldactone

If Aldactone is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Aldactone with the following:

  • ACE inhibitors such as enalapril maleate and captopril
  • Alcohol
  • Barbiturates such as phenobarbital and secobarbital
  • Digoxin
  • Indomethacin
  • Lithium
  • Narcotic drugs such as those containing codeine
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen and naproxen sodium
  • Norepinephrine
  • Other water pills such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide
  • Other high blood pressure medications such as methyldopa and nifedipine
  • Steroids such as prednisone
