Recommended dosage Clarinex for ADULTS AND CHILDREN 12 YEARS AND OLDER
For adults and children 12 and older, the usual dose is 5 milligrams (1 tablet or 2 teaspoonfuls of syrup) once a day. If you have kidney or liver disease, the recommended dose is 5 milligrams every other day.
Recommended dosage Clarinex for CHILDREN 6 MONTHS TO 11 YEARS OLD
For children 6 years to 11 years old: The usual dose is 2.5 milligrams (1 teaspoonful of syrup) once a day. Clarinex RediTabs (one 2.5-milligram tablet) may also be used.
For children 12 months to 5 years old: The usual dose is 1.25 milligrams (one-half teaspoonful) once a day. The dose should be given with a dropper that measures milliliters (one-half teaspoonful equals 2.5 milliliters).
For children 6 months to 11 months old: The usual dose is 1.0 milligrams (2 milliliters) once a day. The dose should be given with a dropper that measures milliliters.
A recommended dose has not been established for children with kidney or liver disease.
